Community Project
Ashley has lined up a great opportunity to use our nutrition skills in the community. An organizational meeting will be held Monday, March 23 at 10:00 am in Campbell Hall.
The schedule for the project:
Monday, April 27th - Basic nutrition introduction / food tasting demo (15 teens)
Wednesday, April 29th - Cooking healthy snacks, hands on with the kids (15 teens)
Tuesday, May 12th - Grocery store trip with kids / recipe planning (15 teens)
Thursday, May 14th - Cook grocery items for healthy meal for 50 teens (15 teens, feed 50)
We need to raise a bit of money to fund this. Godman can provide $200 for the final cooking night but if we could raise another $100ish for the first cooking and food tasting, it would be great. We will know more after our planning meeting, but keep in mind some fund raising ideas.

Another service opportunity...
The Graduate Society of Nutritional Sciences (GSNS) has decided to begin collecting gifts for Columbus' LifeCare Alliance! They are in need of small gifts for their senior citizens, who are mainly low-income men and women who rarely get out of their homes. In room 325 there is a flyer and a list (for you to take home) of possible gift ideas. These gifts need to be wrapped and returned to room 325 by December 9th. This is an easy way to put a huge smile on someone's face this holiday season. Thanks you for your help!

Wanted: gift wrappers
Ashley Harris is coordinating a gift-wrapping service project. Two people are needed per shift. The available dates are going fast so please let her know specific dates that could work for you or at least general times (weekend before exams, after exams, etc). Transportation is available for those who need it.
This is a simple way (they donate all materials) for us to raise money for charity. Contact Ashley (aharris@ehe.osu.edu) for more information.

Trip to Abbott Nutrition
Amy and Sagar are working out the details for our first GSNS career development trip to Abbott Nutrition, for those that may be interested in an industry position after graduation. Check out their website for more company info.
We're planning to attend in the afternoon (maybe around 2:00 pm) either on:
Friday, 12/12 or
Monday, 12/15
Because of security rules at Abbott, we will need to give them a list of the people planning to attend. Note: they won't let you in unless we tell them you're coming, so we really need to know if you're planning to attend.
Please email Amy Headings (headings.226) or Sagar (Thakkar.22) by this Saturday 11/29 if you are thinking about attending.

Plea for responsibility...
We really hate to bring this up twice in one week...but people keep leaving the door to 319 open, and it's really not acceptable.
Please, please, please (x infinity).....
DO NOT LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN WHEN YOU LEAVE!
We don't feel the need to repeat the reasons why; it really is common sense. We're all adults and can handle this small responsibility. Write yourself a post it note or brand it on your forehead if necessary.
Respect other people and the fact that 319 is a shared space.
[End tirade]
